"In general terms, volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others or a
particular cause without payment for their time and services. Volunteering is generally considered
an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life, but people also
volunteer for their own skill development, to meet others, to make contacts for possible employment,
to have fun, and a variety of other reasons that could be considered self-serving." -

Whatever your motivation for
volunteering your time with the Edmonton Reptile & Amphibian Society may be; it is always a fun
and rewarding experience that is greatly appreciated by everyone involved.
Volunteering opportunities
with ERAS are always present and come in a variety of forms throughout the year. Opportunities exist
such as participating in public educational display events (with or without your own reptile pets),
helping with ERAS Show & Sales (set up, table positions, tear down, etc), contributing material towards
the ERAS Newsletter, or even running for an Executive member position for a future term.
Volunteering with ERAS is simple!
1) You need a current ERAS
MEMBERSHIP
2) You need to contact our Volunteer Coordinator (3 METHODS):
• e-mail @ coordinator@edmontonreptiles.com
• forum Private Message (PM) to Bubba
• in person at an ERAS Monthly Meeting
The Spring and Fall Show & Sales are always in need lots of volunteers each year in order to put on the best
expos possible. Educational display events such as Pet Expo and Boo at the Zoo, among others, are also great
annual volunteer opportunities.
Please refer to the UPCOMING EVENTS
section for a more detailed outlook on future volunteer opportunities!
