after a few request for tip on how to breed super worms here we go the pics suck but all i had is my web cam on the lap top
1. find the biggest super worms that you can find and start with them 2.you will need to seperate them into something that is dark and no light can get in so that they start to pupate they have to be by them selfs or they will eat each other and there can not be any food or water in with them or they will take a long time to turn ![]() ![]() it will take about 2-3 weeks depending on how hot they are we keep ours at about 94 and dark we put them in boxs and cover them pizza boxs work also (teagan your right) ![]() once they have turned into the alien as some call them pull them out and put them into a bin we put 500 in one bin for 1 week at a time 500 will lay about 1-2 eggs a day so there will be alot of eggs after a week and if you dont flip them they will over crowd and eat each other and end up with the same amount in the end ![]() for the bottom of the bin we put hog grower from the feed mill on the botton about 1 inch of it so that they dont eat the eggs and they can have water now so we put cricket gel in with them it last longer and they dont drown in it ![]() once they have been in there for a week take all the beatles out and put them into another bin the same way you started then take a paint brush and sweep all the bedding to one end and give the bottom and side a good sweeping and it will put all the eggs at one end now that they have been flipped and there is no beatles in the bedding take some peat moss that is wet really good to the point there is water running out of it and pack it into the other end of the tub so that it is a mud pie in the end it will take a bit for the eggs to hatch and when they do they will stay between the wet peat and the dry hog grower water the peat only as it drys out and that is all you have to feed them is the hog grower once they get big enough dont feed them for 2 weeks anything they will eat all the hog grower that is left and it will turn to a powder and it makes it easy to get them out with a window screen you can also put them on wheat bran once they are about 1/2" and they will grow but you will need to add potatos ![]() the female beatles will have a split wing and the male have a solid shell no split on the back of them if you dont want them running around get a tub with a lid cut a hole in it and hot glue window screen over the top if there are any questions just ask iv probably missed something

After doing some experiments with feed for the worms we are using wheat bran to start them and raise them on and the main key is lots of water we use a garden hose and soak the peat side really well.
we have doubled our production by using wheat bran and water 2 times a week keeping them soaked. when the worms are the size of meal worm split them into bins of about 1500 a bin so they dont eat each other when they are hungry they will eat the ones that are sheding and fast I have found dead mice in bins of super worm and the only thing left is fur so i put a dead mouse in with them to see how long it does take to eat them and there is nothing left after 2 hours

Great article, but really, it doesn't have to be this complicated. Here's a link to an old article on the same topic: http://www.edmontonreptiles.com/foru...read.php?t=457

trogman that post talk mostly about meal worms and doesnt have any specifics on much the meal breeding is totaly different them super breeding we produce 500,000 meals a week and well over 700,000 supers a week now with the cricket shortage bouncing around.
the meals are easy as putting them in a tub of 500 beetles and wait a week sift out the beetles put in 1 whole potato sliced in with them put on a shelve and feed once a week fresh potato and a month later there are lots seperat into smaller numbers and let them grow but super worms have alot more work to them to get them big fast without eating each other.

True, true Williams, but it still doesn't have to be as elaborate as your great system for people to be able to do it themselves. I only culture about 1000-2000 a year, and just use three small tubs or ice-cream buckets that I rotate and sift.
