Title says it all. I was downstairs and I found this little guy running around the cricket cage. I [obviously] can't set him free in the house and I don't have the heart put him outside. What should I do with him?! Would he survive outside?

I doubt anything would survive outside. I sure wouldn't!
Maybe if you make him a parka and send him away with some bannick! ![]() If it's a regular 'ol spider, why can't you set it free in the house? YOu probably have many, many more of them anyways, and they eat crickets. Bonus for us! We love the loose spiders in our walls!

Can't answer much based on the information provided. Given that it's February, it's doubtful it would live outside. Throw it to the gecko.

Hehee a little spider parka!
It has tan legs with brown stripes and its abdomen is like 3-5 mm lengthwise. So it's pretty small. It has 'spun' some silk( right?) on the ground. It looks like this; I guess a common house spider I wont give it to my gecko though. it might have some disease or some 'cide' on/in it.

Nothing worse than the crickets it arrived with. Cricket colonies always have small numbers of spiders and dermestid beetles living and breeding with them

Me no squishy the spider or flush it. I'd feel bad afterwards.
I didn't know that spiders live with crickets... I'll probably keep her[yes i've decided its a she] tonight, then release him outside the basement window which is under the porch there's still dirt, maybe she could create a web. Sweet, she's creating a web in her temp. container.

Go to the front door, go into the closet, grab your least favorite shoe, put the spider on the ground, whack it several times with the shoe, go to the bathroom, grab some toilet paper, go back to the smear, wipe it up, go back to the bathroom, throw the tp in the toilet, and flush it for extra good measure. Quick, easy, simple
![]() We have lots, well had, lots of them, some got over toonie around, And that's the fate each and everyone one of them encountered, except the ones in the bath tub, they got a very hot bath and a swirly down the drain ![]() Tada, spidy problem fixed. Heather

Make sure it's not a hobo spider.
My mom has hobo's as well as giant house spiders living in her place. The only big difference between them is one is known to be aggressive with flesh eating spit and the other is just "meh". |
