hi i was just wondering if any could tell me what my odds are of seeing any amphibians at lesser slave lake would be during the weekend of july 2-4? Im going camping there during this time and always looking for amphib's whenever i go camping. Or any other really good sites in alberta

Yes there is a huge possiblility you would see some around here. What kinds are you looking for??

yup i lived there for 12 years,lots of frogs and salimanders.

I live about 45 minutes from there and there is a butt load of wood frogs and toads and a few garter snakes so you would probably find lots at slave lake since it is near a water source and watch out for them freaking bears they are not scared of people.

when I went there as a kid I once caught and raised some really cool tadpoles that turned into very cool looking frogs. still no idea what they were tho.

i am not looking for anything in particular just amphibians of all shapes and sizes.

my home town is on the lake and i was rasied catching frogs!! lol so usually lots of frogs, big toads! the biggest one i found was 6 inches long, ummm it depends on where you are camping, by slave lake or joussard or spruce point part, hilliards bay.
every place is a bit different HAVE FUN its a beautiful lake
