Default Best Lighting set up? and semi aquatic plants?

So I have a bunch of tanks/terrariums and I set up a paludarium a little while back with about 6 inches of water in the bottom. I only have one crayfish in there, it's mostly for plants. the plants seem to be doing very well in the water, in the soil parts, and the crayfish is super happy in there. The only issue is when the plants get too high up the leaves start to turn brown and eventually wither away. The plants continue to do this repeatedly. What i have for lighting is a t5 HO tech light, 8 bulb overhead but i only have 4/8 bulbs going at any time. should i just lift up my lighting? or get a smaller light on top that isn't pushing 200 watts of t5 lights into this tank? Also what spectrum would work best for shallow water plants AND above ground plants

Also does anyone know of any plants that will do well in and out of water. I'd like to fill the waters edge with some plants but I don't want them to grow super high.

    Thanks for the help guys!

There is no way around it; you have to trim your plants on a regular basis. It is a part of vivarium maintanence.
