not really sure where to start,
throw some ideas at me!

A tall tank for starters then Pothos as ground cover and Corn Plant (Draceneas - until they outgrow enclosure) and Weeping Figs* (Ficus benjamina) and even bamboo for height however eventually all 3 will outgrow even a tall aquarium.
This is a great list of reptile safe plants.
Most of these plants fare well in daytime temperatures in the mid-80s (29-30 C), and can tolerate nighttime drops into the mid-60s (18-19 C).
Bromeliads (Aechmea, Billbergia, Guzmania, Neoregelia) - clip spines
Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema commutatum)
Creeping Fig* (Ficus pumila)
Corn Plant (Draceneas - until they outgrow enclosure)
Dwarf Schefflera (Brassaia actinophylla)
Earth Stars (Cryptanthus)
Gesneriads (Aeschynanthus, Nematanthus)
Orchids (Dendrobium, Epidendurm, Haemaria, Oncidium)
Peacock Plant (Calathea stromata; Marantaceae)
Peperomia (Peperomia obtusifolia, Piperacaeae)
Ponytail Palms (Beaucarnea recurvata)
Pothos (Scindapsus aureus, Epipremnum aureum)
Rosary Vine (Ceropegia woodii)
Sanseveria trifasciata, including the following cultivars: Bentel's Sensation, Laurenti, Moonshine, Gray Lady.
Sanseveria parva, including cultivars: Hahnii, Hahnii "Loop's Pride", Hahnii Silver Frost, Golden Hahnii.
Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus inserta)
Virginia Spiderwort* (Tradescantia virginiana)
Wandering Jew* ( Tradescantia zebrina)

I am happy to assist you in your vivarium preparation in any way I can.
I would prefer to answer your questions in the right section on the forum (vivarium section), however.
Apparently, I am pushy regarding this. I hope you do not think so.

Orchids, vivaria, and a few other things
thanks walker!! that's a great, and very helpful list.
adam, any help would be great!! and my apologies, i forgot that the new section was there! i didn't intentionally disregard it!
At the moment, it's use it or lose it, otherwise I wouldn't bring it up.
If you want the conversation to go beyond the "what plants are safe", I can help you in that regard, in the vivarium section.
The problem is that people don't consider the needs of the plants, or what is available when they make these lists. Some need pretty good lighting, some need fairly high humidity, good drainage and air movement, some are only available seasonally, through certain people, or by special order, etc. and none of those details are indicated in the safe plants lists.
