Why not introduce a venomous thread?

So is this a reptile forum for one of Canada's provinces or is it international?

It's actually not even a whole province just Edmonton but we definately encourage others to join as well. Reptiles Canada has venomous section.

We have members from all over Canada, and internationally, but because they are illegal in Alberta, we really don't want to dedicate an area of the forum for them. Unfortunately, "if you build it, they will come"... if we open up a sub-forum about them and someone gets it in their head that it would be a good idea to have one, not knowing they're potentially lethal, and not having the knowledge or experience to deal with them properly. Personally to me it seems like a trainwreck, and a PR nightmare waiting to happen. Our society works hard to educate the public about reptiles, dispell myths, and let people know what great pets they can be, so dedicating an area to something illegal and lethal seems counter productive. If you'd like to start a thread or two detailing your experiences, and how you handle them as compared to a non-venemous snake I'm sure people would be fascinated. it's something most of us will never experience.

    Hi Cinderz

Maybe I should do just that. I'm going to have to put some thought into a post before I step on toes. I'm a snake educator so have my fair share of problem people.

Pulled a cape cobra out a tree today. Discovered that being 40 something doesnít help trying to be a teenager. Snake in one hand while the other was being used to secure myself so I donít fall out.
