If anyone wants one they are $25 a piece. If you want large numbers, let me know, maybe we can make a deal.

Congrats. I really like the yellow heads on the babies.

Yeah so the little baby I picked up is awesome, as soon as the cricket hits the grounds its on it. And everytime...it seems to eat the crickets throat first. Now as cool as it is to watch, on feeding nights I cant sleep in my room with it, I have to go sleep on my couch in the living room.

How do you sex them anyways? Wouldnt mind knowing(when I can) what gender this little buggy is.

Wait until they get bigger... then the scurrying begin... every night.

* scratch * * scratch * * scratch * scratch * * scratch *

Take awhile to get used to that....

You shut your dirty non-truth spouting mouth! You know you really shouldnt lie on a family forum, it makes you look bad.
Really thanks for telling me that, remind me to let all of your roaches loose. Was joking about the mouth shutting ofcourse.

Actually, I do hear some of the larger centipedes at night, but it sounds more like long fingernails tapping on a desk. The tanzanian flag tails sometimes make that wierd chirping noise with their tails too, but it's not very loud so it's hard to hear over the crix. Scorpions probably make the most noise, at least they do at this house.....

Unless the creature is known to have held eggs, a dead giveaway, there is no external dimorphism to reliably sex them. Apparently they can be probed as they carry different luggage in their wazoos, but do you want to probe a ten inch biological tank that has a nasty temper?? The usual way is to put several adults together (I'm talking the non-communals here). The winner usually ends up pregnant and that bring us to the reason for this thread. I believe the centipede that made these very babies was the winner of Mack's communal Ss dehaani expiriment. Mack showed me the babies when I asked him how many there were...... I wasn't expecting more than 4 dozen, so it was quite a show.

Allright so in otherwords when its bigger I need it to have a kinky battle royale...how long until this species hits sexual maturity?

Allright so in otherwords when its bigger I need it to have a kinky battle royale...how long until this species hits sexual maturity? My largest Ss dehaani reached it's current size in 16 months. You cant possibly overfeed a juvenile centipede, I've been trying for almost three years. Somebody who would be more knowledgeable about the specifics of centipede breeding would be Phil on the Reptiles Canada forums. He posts under "bistrobob". I myself have never bred centipedes, but I'm hoping I'll get some magic with the A grandidieris....

Im the type that can get over my fear by well...in this case, owning them. I am sure feeding will eventually be no problem for me, until it crawls out of the bottle of I have to transfer it to a deli cup or small kritter keeper. Then I will scream, slam a container over it, then never sleep near it ever again.
