Cool, I saw a few of these when we went to Costa Rica - I thought it was another kind of Rhinoceros Beetle, but I guess it has it's own appropriate name.

Yea, btw, if anyone wants, I might have some Black Widows in August lol usually we get one or two :) Neat beetle tho, I wonder how much it eats? I mean geeze, 12"? Must eat quite a bit!!!

Did they say they reached 12 inches in length somewhere? The ones I saw were less than 6 inches... but still that is coooool BIG!

The female scared the crap out of me. I was blacklighting in the forest when this girl flew off of a branch beside my head. Sounded like some kind of large bird or bat. Not what you want to hear in the dark beside your ear.
